Those are fiddler crabs, and lots of them. They kept darting in and out of their little holes all over the path, so the hike was kind of like that carnival game where you try and hit a gopher with a hammer, except we were trying not to hit the gopher. |

Miriam, triumphant. We had reached one end of the hike, and our reward was a beautiful beach. Note the sand Miriam is standing on. It's hard to hike on sand. |
