KENNEDY SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT PICTURES
The Forum is the focal point of the Kennedy School ("KSG") - the centre of all the action, and, logically, the location of KSG "forums". The balconies you see here have comfy couches and overlook a central floorspace which serves as a lunching spot and a seating venue for Forum events. The Forum is decorated with the flags of all Kennedy students' home countries during orientation and at graduation. Yay Canada (top right)!
A different view of the Forum. This time, yay Greece (top left)!
Just days later, the community comes together in the Forum and watches with disbelief as events unfold on TV.
Outside, a view of the main KSG building (Littauer) from John F. Kennedy Park (a public park in front of the school that borders the Charles River.)
This is the view from behind the building in "the Courtyard" - every Friday, a "Beer & Volleyball" social event is held here.
On the other side of the courtyard, looking back from Littauer, stands the Taubman building, also part of KSG.
PICTURES OF CAMBRIDGE
A fine example of Cambridge ivy near my house.
Walking from my apartment to school, this is the view down Massachusetts Avenue towards Harvard Square.
The famous "Au Bon Pain" on Harvard Square, where you can philosophize over lunch or challenge one of several chess masters (right). Worst pronunciation I've heard so far? "O-Bon-Pon."
Harvard Square, proper. There is always some form of musical or other entertainment going on. (Subliminal message (right): "Think different. Think different." ;) ) On the left you can see the edge of "Out of Town News", a mostly-magazine/newspaper shop that serves as a common meeting place for evening excursions.
PICTURES OF MY APARTMENT
I live on the first floor of this house. My apartment occupies the left side and the back.
Part of my living room. I had more pictures but got a bit lazy about scanning at this point. You'll have to visit to see the rest of it (including the fireplace!). :)
Similarly, part of my bedroom. Desk, etc., all in a fairly disorganized state (this was at the end of our orientation week.) It's clean(er) now.
